Plants use only a select portion of visible light, and the unused solar radiation can be a problem or an asset. A great deal of the expense of operating a greenhouse goes towards managing heat, whether it’s too much or too little. Changing how solar energy is used can improve greenhouse efficiency and productivity.
Our first project is to filter the light at the greenhouse ceiling, allowing the spectrum beneficial to plants to pass while reflecting the remaining energy to a fluid filled pipe to be captured as heat. This hot fluid is then used to produce electricity or provide other energy needs.
